Judging Each Other
How would you feel if someone locked their door as you were simply walking by? When we first see someone we look at them to see if they are not sketchy to us. Grouping people can be helpful most of the time, but when done wrong you being to follow stereotypes towards people. In the article “Black Men and Public Space” he talks about how when he walked at night he saw how people were scared of him due to stereotypes. they would lock their car doors as he walks by. People would walk faster or even hold items closer to them so he would not take them. People made him out as a monster as he was just simply walking late at night. Stereotypes should not be a way to think of a person or a certain race. I feel like it holds us all down as people.

I agree with Josh, that stereotyping is there for a reason. Although most stereotyping is consider bad, there are some positive things about stereotyping. When we also look at a person we consider them if they are a threat to us or not. In the article "Black Men and Public Space" the narrator was a black man walking around at night time. There is an association for night, that bad things happen then, so everyone is more on guard at night. However, when we do stereotype wrong it is offensive to the person we are stereotyping.
