I am a long-term focused person because I am patient
and wait for long-term pay off. When I set my goals, I am conscious that that
goal might take years and years, but in the end, I will be able to achieve it.
When I am spending time on any of my goals, or a particular activity, I know
that every day I am getting closer to achieve it.
The article, “You’re so Self-Controlling,” talks
about the importance of being self-controlled. In the second test that the
researchers performed suggested that when a person has a logical intuition,
they tend to think that the more time they invest in something, the closer they
are to achieving it. I completely agree with this study because it had happened
to me before.
One of my favorite hobbies is art, and one of my goals is to get
better at it every day. Every time I start a new piece, I set my goals. First,
I think on the time that it will take me to finish my new piece. Doing this
will help me to focus more on my goal and to be more prepared mentally to any
unexpected event. I also have in mind that I will take my time, but it does not
mean that I will never finish it. On the other hand, every time I spend working
on my piece, the closer I am to get the final result. Being a long term focused
person has helped me to get the best results of myself and my projects.
I agree with you I am a long term person, the pay off for patience is worth it :
ReplyDelete1. its helped me in the past to stick with a goal and really take my time to focus on it more and it was great
2. I was in softball in high school freshman year i was a mess up i wanted to give up but i thought of the long term if i actually work on it ill get better and i did, it paid off.
"Logical intuition - would suggest that the more time you invest in something, the closer you are to achieving it. " This goes into why I prefer long term because i have the time to see it through accurately and i will be closer than i think i actually am.
I complete agree with you, long term always gets better results.
ReplyDelete1. I am a very patient person and I believe I have always received well when waiting. Wanting everything right at the moment and rushing things can result in failing the goal you want to achieve.
2. Back in high school I was on the dance team. In order to get on the dance team you have to try out. The first year I tried out I did not make it. I did not let that stop me from achieving what I wanted to accomplished. I worked hard non stopping and took dance classes. Then next year tryouts came, I was so nervous but I didn’t let it get to me. I did the best I could and I made the team. Sometimes you don’t just give up if you do not achieve your goal the first time just keep trying.
As said in the movie “Meet the Robinsons,” “keep moving forward.”
