"A Modest Proposal"

In “A Modest Proposal,” Jonathan Swift talks about moms who have many children and having to live on the streets because they have no money. He starts off with pathos and is very emotional in the beginning.  Then he starts to get serious and talks about Papists in an ethos way. And starts stating the advantages to his proposal and why they are important. At the end he is making his opinion a big picture and using logos by saying how he desires politicians.

  1. I agree with this. In " A modest proposal he starts off with an emotional beginning to drag the reader in to read more, that's a good way to pull in a reader. when he generates to ethos where he makes us see it in the authors perspective to help us understand what he is trying to get at. Swift ends it with logic about his desire about politicians, the factual ways he could get a reader to keep interested. He uses these methods to connect to us readers, without it we would be disinterested and stop reading when it doesn't connect with us.
